Habitat within Phillip Island Nature Park supports significant populations of little penguins, hooded plovers, short-tailed shear waters and other international migratory bird species, and mammals such as koalas, possums, wallabies, Australian fur seals and bats. The Nature Parks protect a range of plant communities that includes over 330 native species.
